Thanksgiving 2012

This is the first Thanksgiving that the whole Salmon family has been together for seven years, and it sure was a great one. 

Just some snapshots from our day:

Sedona & Flagstaff

David, Georgia and I drove up to Sedona and Flagstaff for the weekend. It was the perfect weekend to get away and enjoy some chillier weather. We even got some snow in Flagstaff!!

Day 1 - Sedona

I found this map online, and we loosely followed this route through Sedona.

Day 2 - Flagstaff

We took a long hike with Georgia up in the mountains. It was a gorgeous and crisp winter day.

We ended the day in Flagstaff with an amazing dinner at Josephine's - one of the cutest restaurants I've ever been to. The restaurant is in a charming bungalow built in 1911 and we enjoyed a delicious dinner by the fireplace.

 

Day 3 - Sedona 

A quick hike before driving home again.

New city, new apartment, new job and a new car. All that's missing is a new baby...

Good thing we can check that off our list some time around April 25!

Robert & Annet visit

Robert and Annet drove out to Scottsdale and spent the weekend with us. We had such a great time, although I was horrible at taking pictures. We enjoyed Mexican food in Oldtown Scottsdale, a couple hikes, and spending time together. 

It's amazing having family so close by!

Happy Halloween!

Perspective...

We've been in this hotel for two weeks now, and I am going absolutely stir-crazy! I was whining and complaining last night to David that I'm just done with hotel living. I want my own house already!

Fast forward to today...

We ran into a family who is staying down the hall. They have been here for six months because their house burnt down with all of their belongings. They have three kids and two huge dogs. They're staying in a hotel room the exact same size as ours. For SIX months.

PERSPECTIVE....

I guess living here a few more weeks won't be so bad. 

We're so lucky!

We're here!

We made it to Arizona and it is HOT, HOT, HOT. Like miserably hot... Here's to hoping it will cool down soon...

One last glimpse of our very empty apartment. We will truly miss Lyon Place. 

Elise took this picture of us as we were getting into the taxi. We had four huge bags, one dog and one carry-on.

Georgia was a trooper on the plane. She slept the entire flight and didn't even make a peep. 

We spent the weekend house hunting with our realtor. We saw at least 15 homes, and really didn't find anything that we loved. 

David had his first day of work today. He came home tired, but optimistic. 

In the meantime, Georgia and I are trying to stay cool in the hotel room. I'm desperately searching for homes, and hoping we can get our little family settled soon.
